1. M-61 PowerSpot Pads / PowerGlow Peel
These are my absolute favorite vegan + cruelty-free chemical exfoliants. The ones pictured above are the PowerSpot Pads, and I love these when I feel a breakout coming & I want them gone ASAP. The pads are pre-soaked in the formula & individually wrapped, which I really like. I usually use one side and save the other side for another night. I get instant gratification when I use these because I can feel my face slightly tingling (in a good way) and any redness from a blemish reduces. The formula has strong acne-fighting ingredients such as Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Sulfur, Tea Tree, and Witch Hazel along with calming, soothing ingredients such as Aloe Vera, Cucumber, and Camphor. When I wake up the next morning, I can literally see any blemish I had almost near gone. I don’t use these every night, maybe 2x a week.
The PowerGlow Peel is good for all skin types, not just acne-prone. I call it a miracle pad, it’s really like a 60-minute facial squished into one pad. It contains plant-derived Glycolic & Salicylic Acid for exfoliating dead skin & pores and resurfacing fine lines and wrinkles for a renewed glow.
2. The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution
My next favorite would be this vegan, cruelty-free glycolic toner from The Ordinary. Oh my, I loooove this stuff & you can’t beat the price for the HUGE amount you get. The 8 fl oz bottle is only $8.70. I use this every night as a toner after I wash my face. I definitely have seen a reduction in my pore size and blackheads. The formula is also alcohol-free which I always look for in a toner. It is not a burning glycolic toner, which is why I like it so much. It contains Rose Water, Aloe Vera, and Tasmanian Pepperberry to soothe and calm the skin while using a chemical exfoliant.
3. CosRx BHA Blackhead Power Liquid
When talking about chemical exfoliants, we always hear about BHA which is a must for chemical exfoliating. This one is a Korean skin care product by CosRx that is not tested on animals and is vegan. BHA is good for reducing pore size and blackheads while controlling excess sebum production. I apply this on the areas of concern with a cotton pad after I wash my face. I don’t put my serums immediately on afterwards until I feel it has soaked into my skin. I only do this max 2x a week before I go to bed. The next morning, I can literally see the blackheads dissolved. The price is unbelievable too for a BHA!
4. Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel – Full Strength
I have been using this for years, long before I went vegan or cruelty-free. I love Juice Beauty, their ingredients are clean and organic with a list you can actually understand. This is more like a chemical exfoliant mask. I do this once a week or sometimes once every two weeks because it is SO STRONG. If you are just starting out with chemical exfoliants, you might want to start with the sensitive one. This peel contains AHA and BHA from Green Apples, Glycolic Acid, and Willow Bark. When I use this, I can actually see results immediately after washing it off. My blemishes are reduced in size, any dead skin is gone, my pores look clear, and my skin is glowing. This is one of my favorite masks of all time & will be a staple in my skin care routine forever.
5. The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
This is like a calmer version of the Juice Beauty Peel (in my opinion, better for more sensitive skin). It is a lot cheaper as well, around $7.20. As their glycolic toner, this also contains Tasmanian Pepperberry to reduce any irritation that using acids might cause. I like this one if I do not want a full strength peel, but just a little revitalization throughout my week. I would recommend this one instead of the Juice Beauty if you are just starting to use chemical exfoliants and maybe have more sensitive skin or want to try something cheaper first.
