Vegan Holiday Oreo Truffles

Posted: December 24, 2018

I grew up with one of my best friends always making Oreo balls before we let out of school for Christmas. They were so good that everyone ate them in a matter of seconds! Now that I’m vegan, I wanted to veganize these delicious treats and spruce them up a little bit for the holidays! This is the simplest holiday dessert recipe you can make! They’re no bake and only require 6 ingredients. I didn’t want to use the brand Oreos, because I’m trying to avoid purchasing products with palm oil in them. I just used the Simple Truth ones.

Vegan Holiday Oreo Truffles

Ingredients

  • 1 package Simple Truth Chocolate Sandwich Creme Cookies
  • 8 oz vegan cream cheese
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • 1 10 oz vegan chocolate chips
  • 2 vegan candy canes
  • 1 tbsp plant milk

Instructions

  1. First, place all cookies in a bag or bowl to crush them in. Crush the cookies until they are almost like a fine powder. As fine as you can get it.

  2. Once cookies are crushed, add in cream cheese and peppermint extract and mix together.

  3. Roll dough into balls. I used a 1.5 tbsp cookie scooper. Place the balls on parchment paper on a baking sheet.

  4. Place baking sheet in the fridge for one hour.

  5. As you’re about to take out the balls, melt the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl in the microwave for no more than a minute.

  6. When you take out the chocolate chips, add in plant milk. Mix together until it’s smooth.

  7. Take the balls out of the fridge and scoop chocolate on top. I used the cookie scooper to scoop the chocolate on top. You could always dip it, it’s up to you!

  8. I then crushed the candy canes, and sprinkled them on top.

  9. Place the truffles in the freezer for one hour until firm.

  10. Enjoy!
